Aloe Hydrating Facial Toner Info:

Propanediol: A humectant derived from corn sugar. It is the natural alternative to propylene glycol. Helps to boost preservative performance. A really light-weight ingredient for natural products.

Sodium Lactate: An organic sodium & lactate salt. It has a role in food preservation but used as an effective & brilliant humectant & moisturizer in skincare.

Witch Hazel Juice or Hydrosol: Made from the Hamamelis virginiana plant & it acts as a astringent disinfecting & cleansing agent. Suitable for all skin types particularly sensitive & redness prone skin. It tones the skin's small surface blood vessels which help ease redness & soothes deep into delicate skin. Aids in insect bites & great for combination or oily skin.

Aloe Juice, Gel or Hydrosol: From the aloe barbadensis plant this incredible ingredient is known for healing & soothing skin. Used for acne, inflammatory skin, UV damaged skin, diaper rashes, wound healing, & used as an antiseptic. The gels can be applied to burns to cool & heal.

Lavender Essential Oil, Hydrosol & Oil: Produced from the lavender flower. It cleans, purifies, softens & refreshes skin . Calms & soothes. Great for sensitive & oily skin because it re-establishes a natural balance. Tones skin & promotes healing. Treats lice & breathes new life in hair. Has antiseptic, antiviral, bacteriacide along with a decongestant. This incredible plant has so many more benefits to list.

Hyaluronic Acid: (high & low molecular weight)- This hero ingredient is naturally found in the skin. Children have a lot of this which makes their skin tight & wrinkle-free making this ingredient sought after. It reduces appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. It also speeds wound healing. Protects skin from dryness. Does not produce any allergies or irritations. It can increase moisture content beyond comparison. It revitalizes the skins outer surface layers making it look smoother, softer & radiantly hydrated. A great addition to natural skin & haircare.

Panthenol or Pro-Vitamin B5: Adds moisturizing properties to any product. Penetrates deep into the skin & hair while promoting shine & lustre.

Allantoin Powder: Present in plants like comfrey, sugar beets, tobacco seed, chamomile & wheat sprouts. Adds moisture & protects the skin from water loss.

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate: A pure & gentlest surfactants on the market. Made from renewable coconut fatty acids & fully biodegradable. One of the most popular choices for shampoo / body bars due to its high performance in soft or hard water. Mild enough for baby cleansers, personal hygiene, & toiletries while still offering very efficient cleansing and low odour. SCI delivers excellent luxurious foam while leaving a very nice silky feeling on the skin. SCI does not dry the skin, or hair, making it an excellent choice for the formulation of all skincare and hair care products.

Colloidal Oatmeal: Finely blended from oats this ingredient moisturizes dry and problem skin, especially people suffering from eczema & dry skin. Colloidal Oatmeal consists of key active ingredients such as beta glucan, which acts as a natural, deep penetrating moisturizer & avenanthramides, natural antihistamines that reduce skin irritations and itching.

Apricot Oil: Oil from the apricot seed. This oil is rich in vitamin A along with being very easily absorbed into the skin. It does not leave an oily feel making it perfect for skin & hair.

Organic Vegetable Glycerin: A natural product derived from organic vegetable oils. Its natural properties will bring smoothness & provide lubrication while acting as a humectant. In cosmetics, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, herbal remedies, pharmaceuticals, & other household items. It is invaluable as a natural-source ingredient with emollient properties that can soften and soothe the skin. Because it is a humectant, it assists the epidermis in retaining moisture. It is soluble in both water and alcohol; this versatility is a major factor in its popularity in manufacturing. Vegetable Glycerine is the result of a sophisticated extraction method called hydrolysis, with the final product being referred to as vegetable glycerine. This system is based on the fats and oils of a raw product (typically palm or coconut) that are then split into crude glycerol fats, under the combined action of water, temperature and pressure. A perfect ingredient that subs the chemical silicones that seem to be in all popular brands.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine: It's derived from coconut oil. It's a very gentle cleansing agent that helps stabilize the foaming properties & increase the consistency of our bath products. Considered a safe, skin-friendly cleanser for both skin and hair that effectively removes surface oil, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin. It is commonly used in "no tears" types of shampoos.

SLES-Sodium Laureth Sulfate: An inexpensive & very effective foamer with much less irritation than Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Derived from coconut, its found in many personal care products like soaps, shampoos, toothpaste etc. Cancer concerns around many anionic surfactants by a supposed 'medical study' does not exist, & both the FDA & Health Canada have determined that both SLS & SLES are completely safe. Studies show when continuously applied to the skin in full strength without washing, these compounds become irritants, not carcinogens. Although not irritating at all. A natural cleansing agent that substitutes sulfates that harm your endocrine system.

Body Butter Lotion-Lavender

Shea & Argan Butter: (Shea)-

Our Shea Butter is 100% natural & Organic. The shea nuts are hand gathered by groups of women in villages in Burkina Faso & are sold at a fair price to the butter producers. To produce a product to organic and export quality standards, the butter is transported by cart to the processing plant where it is purified, filtered and stored in hygienic metal drums. This premium Organic Shea Butter is of superior quality has an unusual nutty scent with a very light top note and wonderful yellow colour of soft grainy texture. Used predominantly for skin care, Shea Butter is known for its moisturizing & emollient properties. Rich in vitamins & fatty acids, it penetrates deeply into the epidermis that leaves a smooth, satiny finish.

(Argan)- Argan Butter is made with Virgin Organic Argan Oil, commonly referred to as Moroccan oil given it's origin, is cold pressed extracted from the nuts of the argan tree (Argania spinosa). Virgin organic argan butter possesses a remarkable ability to nourish, moisturize and to promote skin elasticity. This butter is high in lipids including the omega-9 oleic acid and the omega-6 linoleic acid and Vitamins A, B1, B2, and B6. Argan Butter is used throughout the cosmetic and personal care industries in the formulation of hair and skin beauty products.

Xanthan Gum: is a polysaccharide used as a food additive & rheology modifier. It is produced by fermentation of glucose or sucrose by the Xanthomonas campestris bacterium. One of the most remarkable properties of xanthan gum is its ability to produce a large increase in the viscosity of a liquid by adding a very small quantity of gum, on the order of one percent.

Avocado Oil: Organic Virgin Avocado Oil is cold pressed from the fruit of the Avocado. As an unrefined oil, Organic Virgin Avocado Oil carries a darker green colour with a characteristic odour & taste. The oil is known to be rich in vitamin E & the essential fatty acid Oleic Acid (C18:1). Organic Virgin Avocado Oil is used widely in food, nutritional supplement & cosmetic applications. Has anti-aging benefits due to the content & adds moisturizing properties to hair & skin.

Cetearyl Alcohol: Many people get nervous when they see “alcohol” in the ingredient list. The truth is that most of them are natural, at least the ones in natural products. This one is a blend of fatty alcohols -cetyl alcohol & stearyl alcohol which are made by the catalytic hydrogenation of triglycerides obtained from vegetable & coconut oils & followed by oxidation of a chain growth product of ethylene oligomerized on a triethylaluminum catalyst. It’s a white waxy solid with a typical fatty alcohol odour. A great natural thickener for our amazing products.

Olivem 1000 is a PEG-free non-ionic oil-in-water emulsifier developed from natural olive chemistry. It is a combination of fatty acids, chemically similar to the lipidic composition of the skin surface. It is an emulsifier & thickener which is compatible with a wide variety of cosmetic & active ingredients Safe & clinically tested to be hypoallergenic, it provides creams with an excellent spread ability with no soapy effect. Olivem 1000 provides a deep moisturizing effect with excellent spread ability.

Tocopherol - Vitamin E: Vitamin E is renowned for its regenerative & anti-inflammatory properties. Coconut Oil, Butter Or Fractionated: From the coconut fruit & seed. This oil is high in oleic properties, antiseptic & antibacterial agents. Moisturizes & protects skin beyond other oils. Readily available & ethically sourced. One of the best ingredients in natural skincare. Fragrant & effective.

Castor Oil: The pressing of the Castor bean, Ricinus Communis, results Organic Castor Oil which is a universal light pale-yellowish oil used widely for applications ranging from cosmetic to industrial. Full filtration of the Organic Castor Oil leaves behind only a faint characteristic odor. Cosmetic applications are plentiful as a result of Bulk Organic Castor Oil being rich in emollients which soften and soothe the skin. The oil is known to deeply penetrate the skin and help to retain moisture. Organic Castor Oil can commonly be found as an ingredient in soaps, balms, and hair products. Historically Bulk Organic Castor Oil has been used as a lubricant, release agent and medicinally as a laxative.

Pink French Clay: Pink Clay French is a combination of red & white clays. It is considered to be the mildest of all the clays & works well for normal, sensitive and mature skin types. Its unique composition includes Kaolinite, Iron, Illite, Montmorillonite & Calcite. French Pink Clay can be used in detoxifying body wraps, soap making, face masks, mineral based or cream based cleansers, face or body scrubs, cosmetics and facial powders.

Stearic Acid: is an organic, fatty acid that comes from vegetable fats & oils. It works harmoniously to ensure that the skin is nourished from deep within. Stearic Acid can be used in the manufacture of candles, cosmetics, shaving soaps, lubricants, & pharmaceuticals. When added to soap this ingredient will produce a bar that is harder and that has a more stable lather.

Cetyl Alcohol: An all-purpose, non-gelling thickening agent widely used throughout the cosmetic industry for the stable consistency it gives to the products, it is comprised of 95% fatty acids derived from vegetable oils. Cetyl alcohol is used in the cosmetic industry as an pacifier in shampoos, or as an emollient, emulsifier or thickening agent in the manufacture of skin creams and lotions.This versatile material is also an emollient, moisturizer, viscosity stabilizer, & foam enhancer. It comes in white, odourless flakes, which are insoluble in cold water, and only very slightly soluble in hot water and alcohol. I get mine from souces that are not from palm oil.

Coconut Flavour/ Scent: I have found a supplier that makes her scents from sunflower base flavoured with the true ingredients of each scent. They are fabulous & zero toxicity or carcinogenic. I do not ever want to add fragrance that disrupt your hormones/ endocrine systems.

Conditioning Bars

Mango Butter: From the mango seed. Mango Butter is said to be rich in antioxidants & can be used to soften, smooth & moisturize rough dry skin. It has natural emollient properties, & is reputed to be useful for treating burns, stretch marks, scar reduction, wound healing and skin regeneration smoothing of wrinkles. It also protects against UV radiation & can be used to treat sunburns. Mango Butter is ideal in formulations for lotions, body butters, balms, soaps, shaving creams, hair care products and lip balms.

Cationic Guar Gum: is a polysaccharide that acts as a thickener, emulsifier, & stabilizer in cosmetic formulations. Guar gum has 8 times the water-thickening potency of cornstarch. Made from guar gum it is a natural thickener used in natural skincare with zero adverse issues.

BTMS-50, or Behentrimonium Methosulfate:is a vegetable based conditioning emulsifier. It can be used to emulsify lotions & scrubs but is more commonly used to make hair conditioners. A natural way to add moisturizing properties along with hardening the product to use in water. A great ingredient for natural haircare.

Panthenol or Pro-Vitamin B5: Adds moisturizing properties to any product. Penetrates deep into the skin & hair while promoting shine & lustre.

Co-Q-10 Face Oil

Wheatgerm Oil: Organic Wheatgerm Oil is rich in natural vitamins A, B, D, proteins & lecithin. Wheatgerm is also rich in vitamin E, a natural antioxidant which helps to prevent rancidity. It can be added to other carrier oils to help lengthen their shelf life.

The vitamin E in Wheatgerm plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. This protection extends to stopping damage to the skin from UV rays, pollutants and aging and therefore Wheatgerm Oil is a wonderful ingredient to add to body care and cosmetic products. It can also be used for dry, damaged skin, eczema, psoriasis and stretch marks. Wheatgerm is often used in combination with other carrier oils in order to extend shelf lives.

Grape seed Oil: This oil is obtained from the seeds of grapes cultivated in the Central valley of Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Portugal. The oil is obtained by cold pressing followed by a thorough filtration, maintaining the components of the oil. This oil is an important source of antioxidants, nutrients that traps the free radicals generated by the skin lipids. The high contents of omega 6 fatty acids can assist with skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. It is rapidly absorbed by the skin, so it makes a good massage oil.

Jojoba Oil: Made from the Simmondsia chinensis tree that closely resembles the sebum of the skin, and is rich in vitamin E. This promotes a glowing complexion. This is natural as Phospholipids (natural components of most vegetable oils) hydrate and precipitate out of suspension. The sediment is actually extremely high in beneficial vitamin E and will only create problems if the oil is heated to extreme temperatures where they will darken and precipitate out of suspension. Any sediment can be decanted out wherever practical.

Olive Squalane: Squalane obtained from Olives. Well known as Nature's Facelift, Squalane Oil-Olive, is a botanical lipid that mirrors human lipids in molecular structure and weight. This valuable lipid is extremely compatible with the skin and is safe for all skin types, making it a great choice for regenerative skin care, and anti-aging products. As we age the levels drop considerably and by the time we're in our middle ages, we no longer have sufficient levels to maintain healthy skin. The Squalane Oil-Olive, can help to replenish the natural levels lost through the normal aging process, contributing regenerative activity to restore a more youthful appearance, and resistance to inflammatory conditions.

Pomegranate Oil: is native in regions ranging from Iran through to the Himalayas in northern India. It was cultivated & naturalized over the Mediterranean region since ancient times. The pomegranate plant is a neat, rounded shrub or small tree that can grow to typically to 12 to 16 feet in height. Pomegranate seed oil is a rich and nutritious oil, which may be used for internally or externally. It takes over 100 pounds of fresh dried pomegranates seeds to produce just one litre of pomegranate seed oil. It is natures anti-aging oil that contributes to many facial oils that are of high quality. A great addition to your skincare routine.

Co-Q-10: Potent antioxidant with effective anti-aging & anti-wrinkle properties, reinforces collagen & elastin production of connective tissue, potent moisturizer (liposomes penetrate into skin preventing water-loss). Vitamin-like molecule (ubiquinone) obtained from plant material. Q10 is encapsulated in liposomes (phospholipid double nano-emulsion with vitamin E) to maintain activity, enhance skin penetration & potency. Can be easily incorporated into oily formulas. One of the most sought after anti-aging ingredients only used with the highest quality.

Safflower Oil with Banana extract infused: From the safflower this light weight oil absorbs instantly with anti-aging, hydrating & non-oily properties. The banana is rich in potassium & vitamin A and perfect for aging skin leaving it hydrated and soft. Things we learn from cultures that use everything the earth has for our use in respect.

Chamomile Essential Oil: This very expensive & highly active oil has natural properties that make it a relaxing & rejuvenating agent. Its trace amounts of lithium calm nerves & reduce stress, lower hysteria & over-sensitivity & aids with insomnia. Chamomile is also reputed to have excellent anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties that can assist with cuts, wounds and insect bites.

Cocoa Butter: From the cocoa bean this chocolate scented butter is so desired among the natural community for its hydrating & anti-aging properties. Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores skin flexibility thus making it a butter that fights wrinkles & fine lines. Added to haircare & you have a luxurious hydrating ingredient for curly & dry brittle hair. This butter is one of my favourites to work with.

Sodium Bicarbonate ( Baking Soda)- Did you know that even this "natural product" can now come in a synthetic form? Well it can, BUT I do not use that. I buy the most organic, potent one & because of this it will not irritate your skin like other brands do. I am not knocking other companies by any means - the ones that are natural are doing a great job as well in getting aluminum-free deodorants to the hands of many. This is great!

In the right form, Baking soda is:

The chemical composition of one molecule of sodium bicarbonate is one atom of sodium (Na), one atom of hydrogen (H), one atom of carbon (C) and three atoms of oxygen (O).

It is used as a skin conditioning agent, antibacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal & a cleansing agent to ward off stinky things. It should not irritate if it is in the purest form possible. *the sensitive deodorant omits this ingredient.

Zinc Ricinoleate: Zinc ricinoleate is the zinc salt of ricinoleic acid, a major fatty acid found in castor oil. It is used in many deodorants as an odour-adsorbing agent. Zinc ricinoleate is intended for use in making deodorants & odour absorbents. Zinc ricinoleate traps & chemically absorbs odour molecules formed during bacterial decomposition of perspiration. It does not inhibit transpiration & is therefore not an antiperspirant.

It is however a powerful agent to fight bacteria which is the very thing that causes the odour.

Corn Starch: Corn flour, cornstarch, maize starch, or corn starchnis the starch derived from corn (maize) grain.[2] The starch is obtained from the endosperm of the kernel. Corn starch is a common food ingredient, often used to thicken sauces or soups, and to make corn syrup and other sugars.[3] Corn starch is versatile, easily modified, and finds many uses in industry such as adhesives, in paper products, as an anti-sticking agent, and textile manufacturing.[4] It has medical uses as well, such as to supply glucose for people with glycogen storage disease.[5] Also used to thicken and remove the greasy texture in cosmetics in a natural way. All natural ingredient that has little to no effect on skin sensitivity.

Arrowroot powder: It comes from a root vegetable that is mostly sold as a powder. It is a thickening agent and gluten free. There are health benefits that come from the starch content that claims to promote weight loss, can treat diarrhea and can stimulate your immune system. This is used in natural skin formulations because of the holistic properties this starch delivers.

Kaolin Powder: This clay is often referred to as White Clay and has many uses. Used in facial masks and helps remove oil from skin and reduces the unwanted oily shine on the nose. This clay also stimulates your skin making it soft and healthy and when used regularly it can brighten and tone your skin. Not an immediate result clay but over time this clay will show its effects on your skin with consistent and regular use. It is a soft and earthy white mineral called dioctahedral phyllosilicate clay that is produced by the chemical weathering of aluminium silicate minerals like feldspar. It’s an important raw material in many industries and applications.

Magnesium Hydroxide: It is an inorganic material that occurs in nature as the mineral brucite. In the medical world this ingredient is used as a laxative and antacid. It is also anti-microbial and is a great ingredient in products that want to fight bacterial colonization meaning- it will stop bacteria from spreading.

Probiotic: is a mixture of antimicrobial peptide technology. One type of the antimicrobial peptides is originally derived from the lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus. Like many members of the lactic acid bacteria family, Lactobacillus is capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment. However, Lactobacillus also produces novel antimicrobial peptides known as bacteriocins that are capable of providing effective protection against bacteria. Lysozyme is added to the ferment filtrate during the manufacturing process to facilitate controlled cell lysis and ensure the release of the antimicrobial peptides for maximized activity. (manufacturers instructions) This anti-bacterial is made from Cocos nucifera (Coconut) with Lactobacillus.

Essential oils of Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint are all part of the anti-bacterial family which is what I add to each choice.

Caffeine: Caffeine is a multi functional ingredient that is perfect for anti-aging products.Well known for its ability to increase micro circulation & reduce puffiness, it is recognized as one of the best actives for dark circles & puffiness. Because of the circulation enhancement it is also well known for its ability to reduce the tissues resulting in a slenderising effect. In a Journal of Cosmetic Medicine (2008) article it was reported to have been very effective for 80% of the subjects tested. The treatment was analysed after 30 days with 2X daily applications of a 7% treatment. Noticeable slimming effects were noted for the lower and upper thighs as well as the hips. Green Tea Extract: Actives known as catechins, which are the active constituents in Green Tea. These catechins are antioxidants which are said to have many benefits including helping to cool irritated skin, alleviate damage caused by skin dryness, improve skin elasticity and help cleanse the skin by helping remove dirt, bacteria, and other pollutants from the skin surface.

Dragons Blood Extract: Croton Lechleri Sap Extract, plant based.

Soothing & astringent, Dragons Blood Extract has been used throughout time by the indigenous people of the Amazon to help manage inflammation and encourage wound healing. Today, it is trending in a wide range of skin care products from masks and serums to lotions and creams. With a high concentration of polyphenols, which are known to be potent antioxidants- anti-aging & hyperpigmentation agents.

Wrinkle Peptide: Water, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Glycine, Proline, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate are the ingredients of this powerful peptide.

Plant Polypeptides, Amino Acids & Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid to smooth skin, visibly minimizing deep wrinkles and fine lines while reducing age spots for a more even complexion. Ylang Ylang: Due to its ability to anchor perfumes & blend with a variety of other scents, Ylang-ylang Oil is primarily used by fragrance manufactures today. In aromatherapy, Ylang-ylang is considered to be an aphrodisiac and is often used as a substitute for the more expensive jasmine. It also evokes feelings of deep, languid calm that melt away anxiety, tension and stress. Ylang-ylang tends to predominate, so it should be used in small amounts on its own or when blending with other oils. Anti-aging oil that aids in free radical formation. Cananga odorata or Ylang-ylang, is a member of the annonaceae family of plants growing in tropical Asia. Just a lovely fragrance for an addition to eye care.

Facial Cleanser-Oil Free

Decyl Glucoside: All natural, non-ionic mild surfactant blend consisting of decyl glucoside and sodium lauroyl lactylate. Decyl glucoside is made from coconut & corn starch. Sodium lauroyl lactylate is the sodium salt of lactic acid and an effective emulsifier widely used in foods. Clear to slightly hazy yellow to viscous liquid.

Niacinamide: When it comes to hair growth & skin care supplements niacin is a little known vitamin, also known as Vitamin B3 or nicotine acid that is destined to be a hero. Niacin plays a big role in healthy hair growth. Niacin also helps to maintain the structure of the blood cells and improves blood circulation. Let's talk about preservatives!

In a natural skin & haircare company, there is a balance between bringing customers safe & wonderful products. To deliver some highly active serums, creams & bars there has to be a level of preservation. I do my best depending on the formula to add the preservative that is the most natural. One in particular is fully natural, offering a full spectrum of protection BUT it really smells like almonds. That's not a big deal for some, however for a few products, the way it smells really makes the difference between a good experience & a bad one. That's not to say I use any preservative that have formaldehyde, parabens or other harmful chemicals. In the natural world you have no choice but to use them. In some of my products that have NO water in them, there are no preservatives, because oils, butters and other emollients do not need them, as they do not breed mold or bacteria. Below are the three different preservative I use in my products, the last being the most used.

Liquid Germal Plus: I will begin with the least natural - this one has an INCI of : Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate. It is a broad spectrum preservative safe for all ages in rinse off products. For children under 3 it is not advised to use on leave-on products. I do not use this very much unless the formula asks for it due to chemical reactions in the formualtions. Let me clarify- not chemicals in the products but the reactions due to each compound in each ingredient. There are negative + positive charged ingredients, emulsifiers etc that can interact with each other. I have been on the hunt for good natural ones that are as versatile as this preservative because I know it is out there. * please keep in mind this may cause skin irritation for some- so please check the ingredient list to see if this is in the product you are viewing & do a patch test. (I have very sensitive skin-it does not bother me for the record)

Optiphen Plus- INCI: Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid - This one is considered natural but has an ingredient that sometimes will not be called that. In the natural world it is considered natural because there is no harm caused by it. No irritation or other issues from the ingredients. No carcinogenic properties making it a good broad spectrum preservative I like to use a lot . It does not affect the PH of the product to much & does not smell. A good choice for giving you a great & safe product.

Preservative ECO- INCI : Benzyl Alcohol (and) Salicylic Acid (and) Glycerin (and) Sorbic Acid. This one is all natural & is the one that smells a bit like almonds even though there are not nuts in it. It also compromises the PH is many products making it impossible to keep a product stable. It is ECO certified in the world of natural preservatives as well. I do use this a lot in my products to keep in line with my belief system of "natural is best". The truth is we also have to many things that disrupt our hormones, so to add to it does not align with why I have this business.
